I am a political philosopher at the School of International Relations at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo. I am also a researcher at the Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento, where I co-coordinate a monthly seminar in political theory.

Currently, I am interested in researching normative questions at the intersection of environmental protection and the rights of Indigenous peoples.

More generally, I am interested in questions related to moral, religious, and cultural pluralism in contemporary liberal and democratic states (or, in states aspiring to remain/become liberal and democratic). It puzzles me whether it is possible to find a just and respectful political order for all of us, as diverse as we are. I wonder whether the political doctrine we call “liberalism” is of any help to solve these questions.

My book Evangélicos y laicidad mínima en Brasil: discusiones desde la filosofía política was published in 2022 by the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas (UNAM, Mexico).

I have been professionally affiliated to universities in São Paulo, Uberlândia, Leuven, Rome, CDMX, and Bogotá. I am originally from Colombia.
